The battered chips take center stage as a standout favorite. Many have praised them as crispier and softer than regular fries, making them a must-try. The staff's exceptional service comes highly recommended, with numerous customers noting their friendliness and warmth. The casual vibe is perfect for relaxing meals, whether ordering dine-in or takeaway. Additionally, the large portions at affordable prices get people talking, especially when a hearty meal can be enjoyed for under £5. The quality of the fish, particularly the cod, is also a highlight—a genuine delight that ensures the batter clings perfectly to the juicy fish within.

Most Disliked

Some diners have mentioned that the food can be a touch greasy, especially the battered items, which can detract from the overall experience for those who prefer less oil in their meals. A few reviews also remarked on the size of the chicken pieces in the mixed meat option, suggesting they could be more substantial rather than in smaller shavings. Additionally, during peak hours, the wait can be a bit longer, but the end result is usually worth it. The noise level during busy times may also be a concern for those seeking a quieter dining experience.

I ordered cod and battered chips. It was the best fish & chips I’ve ever had! The batter was light, airy and crisp, yet clung beautifully to the fish. The fish itself was fresh and juicy. Big thanks to the staff for recommending the battered chips. They’re crispier than regular fries, yet soft and fluffy inside. Absolutely delicious!

Ordered takeaway for the first time very impressed from the packaging to the food. The packaging made it feel like 5 star food. The food was excellent tasty and hot I had mixed meat and chips best I've had in ages if had to be nit picking the chicken could of been bigger pieces and not shavings but I still enjoyed it I would highly recommend and I definitely be ordering again. The driver was friendly too .

This is a place that I visited some years ago and was impressed back then. I'm glad to say that my recent visit didn't disappoint! I'm sure you know by now that I'm giving my in depth review on England's national dish (Fish n Chips) I'll start on the fish, one word, fantastic! For a start they actually use cod, which some shops swap out for a different fish so this was nice to know. The taste and texture made this one of my favourites this year so far. I opted for battered chips and they were cooked to perfection. If I had to give a draw back, it would be they were slightly too greasy but not too much that I would complain. I also had peas, which they put in a pot at no extra charge, they were also one of the best I've had this year so far. I will definitely be visiting here again soon, although a bit out of my way, it's worth the journey. Keep up the good frying. Chukka

Five out of five for me. Had a sausage and chips dinner which was delightful. It’s been a long time since I have been to a “chippy” and got some good “salt n vinegar” chips with some batter ones at the bottom and the sausage was great really enjoyed it. Price was cheap as-well, speedy quick service, spotless clean and great service from lovely smiling staff. Thanks.
